Doberman Pinscher
Noah was at the animal shelter and we were told to come and get him that day because he would be euthanized that evening. One of our beloved volunteers jumped into action and got him out right away (thank you Janett!) and we got him to our Leaps and Bounds location shortly after. Sadly, Noah was in truly terrible shape. Not only did he have demodectic mange and an upper respiratory infection, but he had one of the worst skin infections we have seen in a while. His legs were swollen, bleeding and he cried every time he got up from his bed because his skin was so painful. Despite it all though, all he wants to do is snuggle and he will curl up into your arms and bury his head in your chest for as long as you will let him. Noah is now demodex free and most of his hair has come back. He is only about 18 months old and the youngster in him has come out in his personality little by little as he feels better. He just loves to play now and he has a great time with all of his doggie friends so he would be happiest in a home with another dog to keep him company. He is great with people as well and he needs owners who love to snuggle. He will happily climb up in your lap for cuddle time and has never had an issue with dominance due to being allowed on the furniture. In fact, as far as we can tell Noah doesn't have a mean bone in his body and is very submissive with everyone. He does have a tendancy to pick things up and carry them in his mouth although he doesn't seem to swallow anything. Noah also has 2 fused vertebrae in his lower spine which has occasionally caused him pain. We did a couple of laser treatments and he has been pain free ever since but he may need some continued help as he ages. Noah is absolutely darling and he will steal the heart of everyone he meets so we sincerely hope he finds the home of his dreams very soon.
