Brooks lived with his adoptive owner for about two months before he was relinquished due to anxiety around kids. He has many good qualities: housebroken, good with other dogs, knows his commands, and isn't destructive except when he's suffering separation anxiety. Brooks will probably need retirees or adults who work from home to be at his best, as we have also observed since his arrival that he barks and cries, feeling abandoned and lonely. Some dogs behave this way when they have always been the loved companions of adult couples until the couples start a family and the dog is relegated to much less inclusion in the family. We hope to prevent anything like this with his next owner.
