Diesel is a complicated fella but we love him all the same. He landed in the animal shelter as an owner surrender but we weren't given a reason why. He was terrified, defensive and needed rescue because he wasn't displaying well for adoption. Gentle handling and patience has allowed Diesel to learn how to trust during his time with us and we think he could be a wonderful companion in the right home. He is a really calm dog, easy to be around, enjoys walks and lives beautifully with large female dogs (we haven't tested him with anyone else). He is insecure which makes him a good watchdog because he's suspicious of strangers but he is otherwise quiet. When focused and comfortable he likes showing off some of the tricks he knows. We are recommending him for an adult home (no kids) so his boundaries aren't pushed too quickly and he can learn to trust. We hope to help Diesel open up more and more so his chances at a new home increase because this gentle boy deserves a future.
