Fiona's animal shelter staff called us in hopes that we could rescue her, because with a pelvic fracture and multiple bite wounds, her chances of adoption were remote. After coming to us she was kenneled in a very small area with a comfy bed and kept mostly immobile while she healed, and in fact she healed so well that she didn't require the hip surgery everyone assumed she would need! Fiona is 1-2 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She can do normal dog things now, but we recommend another month or two without extremely demanding physical activity to ensure that her healing continues without big challenges.
