Howie was recently (May, 2023) rescued from a Central Valley animal shelter, and we suspect he may have had a lot of freedom where he lived previously, probably leading to him having been impounded as a stray. He is quite skilled at pushing through or crawling under fencing to go where he wants to go. He probably even requires a fence he can't climb or even easily jump over. Ideally Howie should have a block-walled yard for secure confinement. He has been good with and respectful of three different females he has been kenneled with since his arrival. We estimated Howie's age at 5 years, and he weighs 66 pounds.
