After being left at an animal shelter by his owner, Petey was available immediately, and he was tested with other dogs behaviorally and proclaimed relaxed with people and other dogs, easy to handle, affectionate, and solicitous of play from other dogs. All of this sounded too good to be true for a dog just abandoned by an owner to a new environment usually stressful and anxiety-producing for dogs. Of course we had to rescue him! Petey is 2 years old and average size for a male.
