Pixie is a 15-month juvenile Dobie who ended up with an owner that was unwilling to continue with the training she needed to acclimate to a new home. Her good qualities are that she is housebroken, good with other dogs, great with everyone she meets and not destructive.
While the adopter claimed she knew no commands and had no leash manners, she walks easily with us, knows "sit", and "down". Pixie's ex-owner said that she was unable to get anything done because the dog wouldn't give her any space and barked when left alone. We recommended a crate as well as other ideas, but again, our suggestions weren't heeded. An owner who is able to provide proper training, space and exercise will have a cute, active, dog-social dog that also happens to be quite a good watchdog. We also think she would be much happier with a family, an active couple or someone with at least one other dog for her to play with. She weighs about 45 pounds.
